Single mark or tile — pick per purpose

A single mark in a corner says “this is mine” without ruining the image; it is what portfolio and client-preview images use. A tiled, low-opacity pattern says “do not reuse this”, and it is what stock previews and course material use. Tiling is deliberately annoying to remove — that is the point, and also why you should not tile a photo you are sending to a client for approval.

Opacity: readable, not distracting

Around 25–35% white text on a mid-tone photo is legible and still lets the image breathe. Below 12% the mark disappears when the image is resized for a phone; above 60% it becomes the subject of the photo. Add a soft shadow (on by default) when the background is busy — it buys legibility without raising opacity.

Size is relative to the image, not to pixels

A 40 px font is huge on a 600 px thumbnail and invisible on a 6000 px original. This tool sets the font size as a percentage of the shorter edge, so the same settings produce the same visual weight on a phone snapshot and on a 45 MP camera file.

What this tool does not do

It adds text only — no logo image overlays in this version, and no export to PDF. It also will not remove existing watermarks: that is a different job, and using it on someone else’s copyrighted image is not something we will build.

How it works

Exact-size output, or a ZIP when you came with a batch.

Frequently asked questions

Can I watermark 200 images at once?
Yes. The same settings apply to every file in the batch, each result is downloadable individually, and the whole set packs into one ZIP.
Does it reduce image quality?
The image is re-encoded once, at 92% quality by default. For JPG sources that is one generation of loss; for PNG sources it stays lossless.
Can I use a logo image instead of text?
Not in this version. Text covers the common case, and an image overlay needs its own controls (scale, alpha, blend) that would double the panel.
Is the watermark removed by cropping?
A corner mark can be cropped off. If that matters, use the tile mode; a professional removal job on a tiled, low-opacity layer costs more than licensing the image.
